Helene Bowall was married to Tony on 5th September 2008. Before then she was Helene Hymans.
Helene has been passionate about art and beauty since her early days in East London. She had been accepted to go to St. Martin's College of Art in London when, at the age of 16 she was involved in a terrible car crash which led to major surgery and still resulted in the loss of one of her eyes and many months in hospital. Before the crash one of her works was exhibited in Hackney Town Hall! Due to her lessened eyesight and the trauma after the crash her confidence and interest in creating art was put on hold and she carried on with her ‘normal’ life. As one does she married a rock drummer, soon to become famous with Status Quo and they had two children together. Helene brought them up whilst her husband was on the road a lot of the time as well as holding down many jobs - just ask! Since her amiable separation and a new partner, Tony, now her husband, Helene's interest in creating art has been rekindled with a vengeance and she has taken up where she left off and is now working solely in pastels, creating stunning images of textures, flowers and human figures.
Her first public show was in 2004 when she exhibited with the Lewes Artists Group. She has shown work at the Claremont House Hotel Art Exhibition in Hove but the main chance to view her work is at the Happy House Open House during the Brighton Festival in May.
The Happy House's eight previous Open Houses, in the Spring and some in December, have given her the chance to show her work and have been very successful.
